From the moment we met Chelsea at our Portland studio, we knew that we wanted to work with her and her fiancé, Chris. They met us for their engagement shoot at Powell Butte Nature Park for a summer sunset session. Their charisma, humor, and obvious love for each other showed in every photo. We are so excited for their wedding this month!
WOW! A Lovely Day Photography was nominated as a top four finalist for Best Wedding Photography Studio in Portland for Oregon Bride Magazine’s Best of Awards 2017! The awards ceremony is taking place this Thursday at The Nines Hotel! Of course we would be ecstatic if we won, but even just to receive this nomination is a huge honor and we are elated to be held among such prestigious vendors within the local wedding photography community. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your votes. We absolutely would not be here without you!
Another successful workshop and styled shoot is a wrap! We went with an urban elegant vibe for this year, and was a wonderful collaboration of our team and some of our favorite local vendors. Jessica Hill, our creative director and owner, guided the team on posing ideas, a wedding timeline and a complete wedding day workflow from start to finish. We were honored to have beautiful contributions from Kirstie Wight Makeup Artist, Divine Designs Bridal Boutique, and Brenna Burnett Designs (check out that flower wall!). Lastly, the shoot would not have been complete without our lovely real couple, Megan and Kian, as our models. We captured all the details and moments of the day at the bright and beautiful Beast Daylight Studios in SE Portland. The mix of the simple and bright location, the colorful florals, and our flawless couple really made this a picture-perfect day and we are so excited to share the photos with you!
See the list below to view all of the creative and talented vendors that made this shoot possible.
We love it when couples bring something that they cherish to their engagement session, Audrey and Heath’s just happened to be a living being! Their French Bulldog, Lola joined us as we walked around the Lower Macleay Trail at Forest Park. This adorable family was so fun to shoot and we got tons of laughs out of Lola’s snorts. Can’t wait for their wedding this upcoming September!
Lisa and Ryan! Just saying their names brings a smile to my face. These two are one of the funniest and charismatic couples we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Ever since their engagement shoot on Lake Oswego last summer, we’ve looked forward to the day they tied the knot.
Their ceremony at St. Patrick Catholic Church tugged at the heartstrings, as Ryan tearfully watched his bride-to-be walk down the aisle. After they became husband and wife, they headed out with their bridal party in a double decker bus to a beautiful reception at Langdon Farms. Family and tons of friends enjoyed dinner, drinks, and donuts, and danced the entire night away with the happy couple. It was truly a night to remember and we are so happy we were a part of it.
